Commissions

I’m happy to work with you in designing the perfect gift or piece for your living space! If you need inspiration, feel free to browse the SHOP or GALLERY. Contact me using this commission request form to proceed. Please keep the following in mind when considering a commission:

  • Please allow 4-6 weeks lead time after agreement of service and cost. Rush orders cannot be guaranteed due to production time

  • I’m happy to take design cues from other artists, but will not make carbon copies. Allow my artistic expression and interpretation and I’ll strive to make you something stunningly beautiful and unique

  • Regarding sets, I’ll work hard to craft matching items, but as handmade pieces there may be small variances in size, shape, and color.

  • There is a 10% commission fee added for each piece in a project, and NC sales tax (4.75%) will be added to each order.

  • A 30% deposit of the total cost is required before work on a project can commence. This deposit is deducted from the bill due upon completion.

  • A commission contract will be made available to you with all details, including pricing and specifics of the pieces you’ve requested.

Lessons

I currently offer two learning experiences for those interested in wheel work:

1: A one-on-one, six week pottery tutoring course for beginners and those struggling with wheel basics at the Two Ships Pottery studio.

Each week for 2 hours, you’ll have my personalized and undivided attention as I demonstrate and guide you or your child through the foundational elements of using a pottery wheel and creating beautiful, handmade pieces. By the end of the session we’ll have covered wheel basics, trimming, surface decoration, and glazing.

Includes: 1x 25lb. bag of clay, access to studio glazes, and firing

2: A 2 hour, one-on-one tutoring lesson that can either serve as your first exposure to wheel throwing or an opportunity to hone in on a particular problem area in your throwing experience. You’ll have my personalized and undivided attention as I demonstrate and guide you or your child through creating your first-ever piece or working through problem areas.

Includes: 1 fired and glazed piece, finished by me

My goal as your educator is to give you the necessary building blocks so you can move with confidence into larger studio spaces where instructors won’t have time to give the attention a new learner needs.

Please contact me using this pottery course request form for more information.

I also teach at various studios in Charlotte, NC!

I currently am an instructor at The Little Studio in NODA. If you’re interested in taking a class or lesson with me at one of these locations, please shoot me an email at arias@twoshipspottery.com for more information.

Return Policy

I’m happy to work with you if you’re not 100% satisfied with your order. Please email me using this return/exchange request form to initiate a return/exchange request.

  • Return/Exchange requests must be made within 30 days of delivery notification.

  • Returns/Exchanges must be shipped within two weeks of request approval.

  • Returns/Exchanges must be approved before shipping and are subject to a 15% restocking fee, deducted from the return amount or required before exchange is shipped.

  • Two Ships Pottery & Crafts is not responsible for return or exchange shipping fees in any instance except for pieces arriving damaged [see below for damaged items procedure].

  • Shipping cost is non-refundable and will not be comped on an exchange.

  • Return/Exchange shipments must be received in like-new condition and any return/exchange received damaged will void eligibility for a refund or exchange.

DAMAGED ORDERS

  • If your pottery arrives damaged, please photograph the piece(s) and box and send the pictures using this damaged order form.

  • I ship all orders with insurance, so you must keep the damaged box and items as proof for a claim. Throwing away the box or altering anything within the shipment will void your entitlement to a refund or exchange. This process can take up to 3-4 weeks.

  • Once the claim is approved, I’ll get a replacement to you as soon as possible. If an item has sold out, crafting a replacement to order will take between 4-6 weeks.
