Interested in trying a pottery lesson for the first time here in Charlotte, NC, or even wanting to hone your ceramic skills with some hands-on tutoring?

I’d love to guide you through the making process, whether on the potter’s wheel or handbuilding! Take a look at my experience options below:

Pottery Wheel Class

  • The perfect date night experience! Join me at my home studio as I guide you through making a beautiful form on the wheel! Bring snacks, drinks, and we’ll have a blast getting muddy and being creative. Choose a glaze for your work before you go, and in the coming weeks I’ll finish your pieces and have them available for pick up. This experience includes personalized, private instruction for you and your group, along with one piece per individual after they've been finished and fired by me!

    • Ages: 10+

    • Length: 1.5 Hours

    • Project: Bowl/Planter or Cup/Vase

    • Piece Turnover: ~4-6 weeks after event (depending on kiln firing schedule)

Pottery Handbuilding Class

  • Great for larger groups who want to chat! Join me as I guide you through making your own mug! This is a fun, low-stakes experience for socializing and taking your time. Choose a glaze for your work before you go, and in the coming weeks I’ll finish your pieces and have them for you to pick up. This experience includes personalized, private instruction for you and your group, along with one mug per individual after they've been finished and fired by me!

    • Size: 2-8 People

    • Ages: 10+

    • Length: 1.5-2 Hours

    • Project: Mugs

    • Piece Turnover: ~4-6 weeks after event (depending on kiln firing schedule)

Pottery Wheel Foundations Course

  • This is for individuals ready to get serious about pottery! In this highly personalized, foundations course, I’ll help you and other participants develop your own wheel practices. We’ll cover essentials like clay preparation, centering on the wheel, shaping, trimming, and finishing 3-4 clay projects! Once our course is complete and you choose colors for your pieces, I’ll glaze and fire your beautiful creations!

    • Price: 300/person (10% discount applied if you sign up with friends!)

    • Size: 1-5 People (you may be grouped with other participants)

    • Ages: 10+

    • Length: 5 weeks/1 Hour per class

    • Piece Turnover: ~4-6 weeks after last class (depending on kiln firing schedule)

Wheel Tutoring Session

  • Are you a wheel practitioner struggling with a particular technique/project? Have you found yourself in a pottery class and wished you had more one-on-one time with an instructor? Does a part of your process feel more like a chore than a joy? This option is for you! I’ll work with you to troubleshoot issues you might be encountering in your practice and help you find the success on the wheel you’ve been striving for! You’re welcome to bring your own bats and clay if you’d like to keep your work at the end of our session. Tools are provided, but bring whatever you’d like to learn with, specifically!

  • Note: This session does not include a finished piece and is not intended for first-timers.
